It's Sunday again....time for music

It time to link up with Thea's page and have a Sunday Session and Natasha's page for Sunday Song. Usually I take inspiration from what Thea chooses, but unfortunately none came.

1984-85 - I was in the Northern Territory in the outback, and we only had ABC television and radio. Being in a new job, and in a new town and having just met this great man (soon to become a  fiance and later husband), listening to the radio or watching tv was not high on my list of priorities. Idid have a friend in Adelaide who went to the Howard Jones concert and she was really excited.

So I will take do a 6 degrees of separation and think along the concert line.  I went to many when I lived in  Adelaide.

One of the great ones was Fleetwood Mac.

It was also the time of great sound tracks and this next song was a blast for all of us in the outback. It got everyone onto the dance floor. Ready to get your feet tapping? It could almost be a newbie, as there is a remake of this movie coming out soon. Its......wait for it.......


Footloose

 Now its time to think of a newbie. I have certainly been exposed to some new music this week. This tune is catchy, dancie, and the kids love it. I think its great for Sunday morning house work.

Enjoy your Sunday. I am off to an Eisteddfod about 2 hours away to see kids perform.

There are a few songs that I know off by heart, but I'm not sure I have the courage to put one of them up. I have just watched the clips on you tube and thought wow...what mullets, what tunes...could I subject anyone to this??

Now I  remember a song that I can sing along to totally and am not embarrassed to put up. Here it is...the way to finish of a Saturday night at the disco.

I love Led Zeppelin, and I remember deciding where to baby sit depended upon the record collection. If you had this album I babysat for free (lucky for you Uncle Johnny) *S*

Sunday Sessions



This week my oldie comes from 1976. Year 9 high school. I really loved the band Queen and they came to Adelaide and I went to their concert.It was my first concert So here is one of their songs. I have included a second version as in 1976 this show was one of the rare ones that a 14 year old would condescend to watch with her family as it was considered cool.

Bohemian Rhapsody

I too went to the Aria charts and found a song that I liked. I heard it last year and its still there. Yah!!! Its a great song. Some year 9's at the local high school made their own clip and it was amazing. Enjoy Bruno Mars.

Sunday Sessions

I have been viewing a few blogs that I like, and one in particular that I enjoy is the Sunday Sessions. I thought I would give it a go. It may be too impractical for someone who has only begun to blog, but as they say nothing ventured; nothing gained.

The idea is an oldie and then a newie. Finding an oldie is easy... but which oldie to choose as I have so many. I have decided on Life in a Northern Town by the Dream Academy. This video clip made me crave for trips back to the UK

Now for something modern. Well thats hard as I don't listen to the radio or watch Rage any more. My only hope for modern music is getting ideas from the kids I teach. They  told me about this group called the Black Eyed Peas. I like their tunes. This is the one that is catchy and sounds fairly modern to me. Hey it was released in 2009 so amazingly modern for me.

The song is I Gotta a Feeling.



Being an educator, I also like this version. I am using this as my theme for reading, hoping that all my class can complete the reading challenge.



So here goes my first attempt to join in with the Sunday Sessions. If I have not followed the rules please let me know and any positive feedback would be good. I am still trying to work out how to add the button things. One step at a time.
